Probably spelled incorrectly but Swiss German comes later! I've learned about the all-important apero (drinks that go from about 4-6pm) and it's what YOU invite your neighbours to when you are new to the community. Don't expect them to come knocking on your door first (except unless you have infringed some community regulations to do with garbage, noise or laundry.
I have been off-air because there has been so much to do to make up for the lack of two internal communications people in the department for so long.
However, last night I had a delightful lesson in using the washing machine in the temporary apartment from Frau Ringger. Most helpful and logical it was and all designed to ensure the good of the community. A sentiment I am entirely supportive of even though it will mean mending my ways big time. Suffice it to say that I will do my very best to remember the entire routine but I can't vouch for Richard being so diligent when he arrives which is this Sunday - earlier than expected. Could he be missing me already? No I think he just doesn't want to miss out on the relatively warm and dry October weather and fall of the autumn leaves.
I had a real Swiss sausage and roesti dinner this week celebrating a colleague's birthday and discovered an entirely new part of Zurich. Saw the wondrous new stadium building en route - very classy design as with many things here.
Tschüs (took me four goes to work out how to get the two little dots on top of u)
